T Bike 1 Phase 2 Build

From modified cruiser to custom bagger
Phase 2 of T Bike 1 was a quantum leap from its origin as a 2003 Suzuki Intruder 1500LC stock cruiser. In addition to adding Hard Krome 2 into 1 Sideburners other major modifications included…
RC Components 18″ Forged Talon wheels on front and rear

The 2003 model year for the LC came with factory dual front disc brakes. We decided to mill off the brake caliper mount from the right side fork. The lower front forks were chromed to add to the custom look. Upgrading the wheels also gave us the opportunity to replace the stock 180 rear tire with a beefier 200.

National Cycle Cruiseliner hard bags were added to complete that custom bagger look
We decided to modify the saddlebag mounting bracket to move the hard bags down 1″ and back 1/2″ to better align with the rear fender. Inset side reflectors were removed, filled and painted to match the drop shadow, marbelized flame paint.
A special tribute to a friend and fellow rider
Stuart “Limey” Hamilton played a significant role in first build phase of T Bike 1 in 2004. His untimely passing just after T Bike 1 earned a trophy in Sturgis inspired us to pay tribute to him in phase 2 of the build. Sheet metal was formed into a scoop design, then prepped for paint. After the based coat and candy were applied, our artist hand painted a wolf design and tribute to Stu.
The Thunder Saddle custom leather seat is added to the bike

Metric Thunder worked closely with Saddlemen to develop a unique custom saddle to complete the custom bagger look. Saddlegel was inserted into the driver seating area. Foam was molded to create lower back support for those long rides. Top grain leather with matching red flame stitching was used to cover the seat.
The Metric Thunder logo was then stitched onto the back of the seat.

The end…
